Generazione Vigneti
Family, territory and entrepreneurial vision define the coordinates of our values. Since 1995, the fourth generation of the Piccini family has invested in the most suitable areas of the Italian wine scene. From this deep bond with the land, the family has forged its legacy for the future: “Generazione Vigneti,” the project that includes all the family estates. Today, the helm is entrusted to the hands of the fifth generation, supported by the winemakers Alessandro Barabesi and Pasquale Presutto.
By highlighting terroir’s crucial role, “Generazione Vigneti” aims to narrate the peculiarities and nuances of five corners of Italy. The oenological itinerary traced out by the fifth generation starts from the hills of Valiano in the heart of Chianti Classico, skirts Tuscany’s Maremma, where Tenuta Moraia stands, and continues in the kingdom of Brunello, home of Villa al Cortile. Two volcanic estates complete the scene: Torre Mora, on Etna’s threshold, and Regio Cantina in Aglianico lands, at the foot of Mount Vulture, in Basilicata. “Generazione Vigneti” philosophy emphasizes the close relationship between the wine and its place of origin, starting with organic farming and a sustainable and ecological approach.
From an operational standpoint we are paying close attention to the territory, as demonstrated by our achievement of the “Equalitas sustainable cellar” certification. Keeping this in mind, our estate in Chianti Classico is now employing a machine equipped with pioneering technology: Icaro. By using quartz panels, Icaro eliminates fungal diseases without using pesticides, by irradiating plants with UV-C rays. In addition, the machine is powered by electricity, ensuring maximum sustainability. In collaboration with GEA FACTORY, we are creating the “Sustainability Zero” report, which will give us an overview of our factories’ current status of work. In terms of ecosustainability, this will provide the starting point for additional interventions. vThe entire Piccini 1882 Group is also deeply involved in sustainable practices: Our historic facility in Castellina in Chianti is being renovated with solar panels, which feed a new bottling line. Following this transformation, our headquarters in Casole d’Elsa will also be fitted with photovoltaic panels, covering approximately 11,000 square meters and capable of generating 660,000 Kw/hour.
The real protagonists of a company, however, are its employees. In accordance with the provisions of the “Equalitas” standard, our Group is committed to ensuring fair, transparent and consistent management of employment relationships. And Piccini 1882 has been actively involved in social support for several years. In this perspective, the company works to strengthen the community by supporting sporting events in the area and collaborating with charity organizations.
